Trinity Preschool

Trinity Pre-school, a non-profit, non-denominational school, was established as a mission of the Trinity Church in 1964 to meet the needs of a growing community. In response to the needs of families, Trinity Pre-school has developed programs for Threes, Fours and Fives. Optional programs have also been added to accommodate a variety of family lifestyles.

Trinity Pre-school is committed to providing a warm, stimulating environment for young children in accordance with the standards for developmentally appropriate practice set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Trinity Pre-school provides a safe, nurturing environment that promotes physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children while responding to the needs of families. We recognize the importance of applying knowledge of child development to program practices, while respecting and responding to the uniqueness of each child. We strive to insure that all programs follow the NAEYC guidelines for developmentally appropriate practice.

The Curriculum at Trinity Pre-school presents an integrated, process-oriented, thematic approach with the emphasis on children's literature. Activities are based on weekly/monthly themes which combine language, math, science, music, art and cooking related experiences. The children enjoy listening to stories through books and story telling techniques. They are also offered open ended activities based upon the stories in conjunction with the chosen theme. There are many learning opportunities for the children in the interest areas they visit each day.

Trinity Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC accreditation is a rigorous, voluntary process by which early childhood programs demonstrate that they meet national standards of excellance. The heart of NAEYC accreditaion focuses on the child's total experiance at the school. The process considers all aspects of the program including health and safety, staffing and staff qualifications and the physical environment. The greatest emphasis is on the children's relationships with the staff and how the program helps each child grow and learn and intellecually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
