Special Services

Throughout the Liturgical Seasons

The Christian liturgical calendar is rich in celebration of Christ's presence with us. Please check this page on a regular basis as holidays approach. We will keep you up to date on our special worship services and community celebrations. All are warmly welcome and invited.

Christmas is Coming!

  • The Trinity Church Christmas Pageant will be virtual this year. What we need from you right now is to tell Nancy (617-383-1173, nsavage02148@ gmail.com ) or me (508-558-6849, revrebeccahomansblair@gmail.com) that  your child, children, grandchild and grandchildren are willing to participate. Nancy will email you a part that is suitable for the age and proclivities of your child/children. If your child/children want to be in costume while they are saying their part, you are welcome to be creative in that regard. Using your smart phone, or a similar device, you will film your child/children saying their part. The parts will range from being as simple as saying  “baa” or “moo” to providing the narration that will hold the whole thing together. Please let us know by December 1st if members of your family will participate so we have plenty of time to make this work! We will show the pageant during our Advent IV service and then we will put it up on our website.
  • Our Christmas Eve experience will be both outdoors and on ZOOM. We will have an outdoor Christmas tree that will be placed near the outside altar. The Preschool is making ornaments to hang on the tree. The Christmas Committee is asking the rest of us to bring and hang ornaments on the tree that the birds can enjoy. We will light up the tree and some of the surrounding greenery with outdoor lights. In the Resurrection Garden, we will have Christmas lights and a Creche. We will have luminaria along the walkways and Christmas Carols recorded earlier by the Choir. We will also have Zoom service that will be broadcast from inside the church (if it is safe to do so). The exact timing of all of this is yet to be determined.  The Zoom service will probably be at 4 pm and we will keep the lights on outside until 9 or 10 pm. More information will be coming soon!

For the holidays, the Trinity Church Outreach Committee will be continuing with our Christmas traditions. We appreciate parish members contributing to whichever one (or both!) that works for you this year:

  • Angel Tree for St. Stephen’s Church in Lynn—Because of the COVID risks involved with shopping and because of St. Stephen's present needs, we will be collecting twenty $20 gift cards to WalMart instead of the usual presents we provide. For those who don’t know, you can pick up WalMart gift cards many places (CVS, Stop and Shop, Walgreen's) not just at WalMart. To all the crafters in the parish, Susan Olmsted will be making decorative felt stockings for the gift cards. If you would like to help her with this project, please contact her at susanolmsted2004@yahoo.com.You can mail the cards to Cyndi Bernhard-Sanger and Catie McBournie or drop them off at their house. There will be a box in their breezeway for a safe drop off. Their address is 24 Perkins Row, Topsfield MA 01983. Any questions, Cyndi’s email is momof3n1.cm@gmail.com.  Please make sure she and Catie have your donation by Saturday, December 5th.
  • Christmas Food Bags—Again, because of COVID we are doing the food bags differently this year. We are asking you to adopt a family and bring a bag or basket containing the following items, 4 cans green beans, 4 cans creamed corn, 2 cans of gravy, 1 can of cranberry sauce, a large package of stuffing mix, a 5 pound bag of potatoes, a $25 gift certificate to Market Basket (for turkey).  There are twenty-five families in need, so we hope to collect twenty-five Christmas food bags.  The bags can be dropped off at the church on Friday, December 11 from 10 am to 12 pm or from 5pm to 7pm. You can contact Joan Lunn at joanmlunn59@gmail.com for additional pickup times.
